1. Overview
I offer expert online fertility consultations via Zoom to patients throughout the UK and internationally. Online consultations cover the full range of my fertility services — from reviewing your test results and planning your treatment strategy, to prescribing bespoke Chinese herbal medicine which is then dispensed and posted directly to you.
The online consultation service is particularly valuable for patients who cannot easily attend my clinics in person — whether due to distance, work commitments, mobility difficulties, or because they are based overseas. It is also widely used by patients who complement in-person acupuncture with online herbal consultations between clinic visits.
I have over 25 years of clinical experience in fertility, am a member of the British Acupuncture Council and the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine, and am the author of My Fertility Guide and My Pregnancy Guide. I have helped hundreds of couples conceive, including many who had been trying for years, who had complex diagnoses, or who had experienced repeated IVF failure.
2. Who is this for?
Online consultations are suitable for anyone seeking expert fertility guidance, including:
- Couples trying to conceive naturally who want a comprehensive review of their situation and a clear treatment plan
- Women with fertility diagnoses — including PCOS, endometriosis, low AMH, high FSH, premature ovarian insufficiency or irregular cycles — who want individualised treatment
- Men with male infertility including low sperm count, poor motility, abnormal morphology or elevated sperm DNA fragmentation
- Couples preparing for or undergoing IVF, ICSI, FET or donor egg cycles who want to optimise their preparation with Chinese herbal medicine
- Women who have experienced recurrent miscarriage and want to address the underlying causes before their next conception attempt
- Patients with unexplained infertility who want a detailed TCM assessment to identify factors that standard western investigation has not found
- Patients outside the UK who want access to expert TCM fertility care
- Existing patients who prefer online follow-up consultations between in-person sessions
3. What is covered in a consultation?
The initial online consultation typically lasts 45 to 60 minutes and covers:
- Full fertility history — how long you have been trying, previous pregnancies, any fertility investigations and their results, previous treatments and their outcomes
- Review of test results — I will review any blood tests, semen analyses, ultrasound results or clinic letters you share with me, and explain what they mean in both western and TCM terms
- TCM diagnosis — detailed questioning about your menstrual cycle, energy levels, sleep, digestion, stress, temperature regulation and other diagnostic indicators, plus tongue and pulse assessment where possible via video
- Treatment plan — a clear, personalised plan covering dietary changes, lifestyle recommendations, supplements where appropriate, Chinese herbal medicine, and guidance on any further investigations that may be useful
- Chinese herbal prescription — where indicated, a bespoke herbal formula is prescribed at the end of the consultation and dispensed by post, typically arriving within two to three working days
Follow-up consultations are shorter (30 minutes) and focus on reviewing progress, adjusting the herbal formula as the cycle evolves, and answering any questions that have arisen since the last appointment.
4. Chinese herbal medicine by post
One of the most important advantages of online consultations is the ability to prescribe and dispense Chinese herbal medicine to patients anywhere in the UK and internationally. All herbs are prescribed in pharmaceutical-grade granule form from Sun Ten (Taiwan), independently tested for purity, potency and safety, and dispensed directly to your address.
The herbs are easy to take — a measured amount of granules is dissolved in hot water and drunk as a tea, once or twice daily. Each prescription is individually formulated to your specific TCM pattern and adjusted at each follow-up to reflect changes in your cycle and overall health. This means the formula becomes more precisely targeted over time as your response to treatment develops.
Chinese herbal medicine can be prescribed for the full range of fertility conditions treated at my clinics, including PCOS, endometriosis, low AMH, high FSH, irregular cycles, male infertility, recurrent miscarriage and IVF preparation and support.
5. How it works
- Book your appointment — use the online booking system to schedule your initial consultation at a time that suits you. You will receive a confirmation email with a Zoom link.
- Share your records — before the consultation, you can email any relevant test results, clinic letters or semen analysis reports to help me prepare. This is optional but helpful.
- Attend your Zoom consultation — log in at your appointment time. The consultation is conducted by video call and follows the same structure as an in-person consultation.
- Receive your prescription — if Chinese herbal medicine is indicated, your bespoke formula is dispensed and posted to you following the consultation. Most patients receive their herbs within two to three working days.
- Follow-up consultations — I recommend monthly follow-up consultations to review progress, adjust the herbal formula and answer any questions. These can be booked online and are shorter than the initial appointment.
6. Prices
Full pricing information is on the treatment prices page. As a guide:
- Initial online fertility consultation — £60
- Follow-up online fertility consultation — £50
- Bespoke Chinese herbal medicine prescription — £35 per week (in addition to consultation fee)
Online consultations offer exactly the same level of expertise and individualised attention as in-person appointments. The only element that cannot be provided online is acupuncture treatment itself — for patients seeking both herbal medicine and acupuncture, I recommend combining online herbal consultations with in-person acupuncture sessions at my Wokingham clinic.

7. Frequently asked questions
Is an online consultation as effective as an in-person appointment?
For the assessment, diagnostic and prescribing elements of a consultation — reviewing test results, TCM diagnosis through detailed questioning, treatment planning and herbal prescribing — an online consultation is just as effective as attending in person. The one clinical element that cannot be replicated online is acupuncture needling. For patients whose primary need is Chinese herbal medicine, dietary guidance and treatment strategy, online consultations deliver the full service.
Can you prescribe Chinese herbs for my specific condition online?
Yes. I prescribe individualised Chinese herbal formulas online for the full range of fertility conditions I treat, including PCOS, endometriosis, low AMH, high FSH, irregular cycles, recurrent miscarriage, unexplained infertility, male infertility and IVF preparation. The prescription is based on your individual TCM pattern, identified through the detailed consultation process, and is dispensed by post within two to three working days.
I am based outside the UK. Can I still have a consultation?
Yes — I offer online consultations to patients worldwide. Herbs can be posted to most international destinations; please contact me in advance to confirm postage availability and costs to your country. The consultation itself is conducted via Zoom in English.
Can I combine online consultations with in-person acupuncture?
Yes, and this is a common and effective arrangement. Many patients attend for acupuncture at my Wokingham clinic and use online consultations for their herbal medicine follow-ups between clinic visits. This reduces the number of in-person visits required while maintaining the full benefit of both therapies.
Do I need to share my test results in advance?
It is helpful but not essential. Sharing blood test results, semen analyses or clinic letters before the consultation allows me to review them in advance and make the most of our time together. If you do not have results to share, the consultation will still cover a full TCM assessment and produce a personalised treatment plan.
How quickly will I receive my herbs after the consultation?
Herbs are dispensed and posted immediately after the consultation. For UK addresses, delivery typically takes two to three working days. International delivery times vary by destination. Herbs arrive as pre-measured granule sachets, ready to dissolve in hot water, with full instructions included.
